Bologna Conference

April 2022

Foundation for Jewish Heritage and Centropa representatives attended the Euroclio conference held in Bologna in April 2022 entitled ‘What is History For?’ 

The Jewish cemeteries project was presented, demonstrating how Jewish cemeteries can be used as significant places of education, developing understanding of the Jewish narrative in Europe while also engaging in values education.  Case studies and lesson plans were provided to assist teachers in thinking through the concept and how it could be applied within their schools.

Seminar in Slovakia

October 30-31, 2022

Centropa and the ESJF (European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative), the Foundation for Jewish Heritage (FJH) and Euroclio invite you to join our joint two-day training seminar for 45 teachers from all over Europe on “Teaching Jewish heritage in your class.

The training seminar allows participants to learn about the Jewish cultural heritage from renowned experts. Furthermore, participants are introduced to our educational tools, examine Jewish history and take a closer look at Jewish cemeteries and synagogues as a site of learning. 

Small-group exercises to develop lesson plans and projects for classroom use and extracurricular activities will take place. The seminar is held in person.
