Seminar in Chișinău, Moldova

July 26, 2022
- July 28, 2022
Number of participants: 31

The seminar, organized with our Moldovan partners EcoVisio, began with introductory remarks by organizers and partners Natalia Corobca from KAS and Aliona Grossu from the Jewish community. This was followed by guided visits to the Chisinau Jewish cemetery and a tour of Jewish Chisinau, led by Irina Shikhova. In the cemetery, Irina gave a workshop on epitaph and headstone symbols on Jewish cemeteries. The tour also included stations of Centropa’s AudioWalk of the city – a useful audiovisual guide for both educators and the interested public. A workshop led by Sergiu Musteata explored the ways that materials on Jewish cemeteries could be used in classrooms. Participants were also welcomed to explore Centropa’s new exhibition “Fleeing the Holocaust: Jewish refugees from the Caucasus and Central Asia”, which will be displayed in the courtyard of Artcor, Chisinau, until July 29th, 2022.

We want to thank our supporters, the European Commission and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Moldova for making this seminar possible
