On 19th and 20th June, 25 students from the seven grant countries joined ESJF for a two day online hackathon and webinar on technology in Jewish cemetery preservation. With sessions on the application of drones in the work of the ESJF from Office Manager, Alexander Bessarab and on the usage of historical maps in heritage preservation from the ESJF’s Historical Researcher, Dr Katerina Malakhova, as well as workshops on photogrammetry and Pix4d from Drones Specialist, Hlib Lisovyi and Pix4d Senior Technical Trainer and content creator, Ryan Hughes, participants learnt all they need to know about the interesting intersection of UAV technology and Jewish heritage preservation. The event was concluded with a prize for a technical challenge.
